Meet Your Doula,

Alex Bittner

For as long as I can remember I have loved the world of babies, pregnancy, and birthing. But it wasn’t until my own pregnancy and birth that I really understood the importance of doulas.

After years of being a professional dancer, I became a mom, and my calling as a doula became clear. Dancing taught me a great deal about working and caring for different bodies, including massage work, which I take with me into this next chapter.

Since 2024 I have been working for Mindful Birth NY, learning from the amazing Mary Esther Malloy. I am lucky to have her as a resource to call on when I attend my own births. In May of 2025 I attended a birth doula training with Carriage House Birth. I continued my birth worker education with Spinning Babies, Comforting Touch, and the Lactation Learning Collective.

I am now a certified and practicing birth doula for both hospital and home births. It is my belief that everyone, no matter their birth preferences, should have a doula by their side before, during, and after their birthing day.
